SmartyCards is created and maintained by the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota.
Mission Statement
We believe that creating inclusive and equitable learning environments improves teaching and learning for everyone.
We:
- commit to providing equitable access to all users,
- design and develop SmartyCards following Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements using W3C WCAG 2.1 level AA standards,
- work to identify and fix accessibility issues in a timely manner

Best Practices for Card Content Creators
- Plain text can be read by assistive devices. Do not use screenshots of text.
- Images with alternative text or captions can be read by assistive devices. Include alt text on all images and captioning with video content.
